My name is Emma Conroy (she/her), I am an emerging Birth Doula based in Vancouver’s West End.
My philosophy is simple: I am here to support my clients no matter how they choose to birth their babies. I believe that birth is a natural, instinctual process, but also one that is inherently unpredictable. I fully support all birth choices, trusting that each individual or family will make the decisions that are right for them.
Birth is an emotional and transformative experience, and I am here to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can share your hopes, concerns, and desired outcomes. My goal is to comfort, guidance, and reassurance throughout.

My decision to return to birth work followed the welcoming of my niece in early 2023. Having worked in childcare and education intermittently for over a decade, I found myself providing support to not only the children but increasingly, to their mothers as well. Recognizing this, I decided to focus my energy on helping families in a newfound way.
Holistic – Realistic Support
My approach is holistic-realistic. I blend emotional, physical and informational support to help my clients navigate their unique birth journeys.
The following principles are central to my practice as a Doula. These approaches integrate both traditional and modern practices, aimed at empowering clients while respecting their individual needs:
- Informed Choice and Empowerment
- Mind-Body Connection (Relaxation Techniques, Meditation)
- Nutrition and Physical Preparation
- Continuous Support (Doula Care)
- Personalized Birth Plans
- Alternative Therapies (Acupressure, Aromatherapy, etc.)
- Postpartum Care and Bonding

My long term goal is strengthening foundational knowledge in modern and traditional Birthing practices to establish and render birth support and childbirth education accessible to rural communities in northern BC and the Yukon.
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll find me working at my daytime consulting job or exploring various fitness activities.
