Prenatal Appointments

These take place at 25 and 36 or so weeks…birth plan review, education, and postpartum planning…these are the visits that prepare us for delivery!

I’ll bring along books, a resource list & PDF educational materials for you to review as compliment to your specific concerns along with some general information.

Labour & Delivery

You’re in labour! You’ve planned ahead, and you know to call me when the time comes…You’re feeling prepared, equipped with coping strategies, and confident in your body and your baby’s journey.

We’ll stay together, supporting you through every step until your baby is in your arms. Every birth is unique, but you can count on my care to remain consistent throughout.

Postpartum

I’m available for postpartum support as early as 48 hours after your birth. Typically we schedule an in home visit around day four to see how you’re doing. We’ll cover your birth experience, feeding, baby wearing, recovery, and anything else you need help with.

A second visit is completed at day 30 and is an emotional check in. A chance to have some 1-1 time with the birthing person, before I present you your birth story and we say our goodbyes!

Post-Partum Preparation & Meal Support

This service includes in-home care coordination, postpartum nutrition support, decision reduction (no planning required), and recovery-focused meal design.

We’ll begin with a comprehensive postpartum preparation visit, including setting up postpartum care baskets in your bathrooms, creating realistic expectations for the early postpartum period. The fourth trimester is a significant transition, and this in-home visit (around 37 weeks) helps ensure you feel ready, supported, and cared for as you enter this stage.

This is followed by a personalised recovery meal service including nourishing postpartum food preparation designed to support healing and energy levels in the fourth trimester.

  • Visits are approximately 4–6 hours in length.
  • Clients select one main meal and one snack from our menu in advance, Harbour Doula then completes the shopping, preparation, cooking, and cleaning for approximately 6–8 family-sized meals (or equivalent servings), and 10-12 snack portions, depending on the menu selection. These are then packaged and stored for use as needed.

A second, shorter visit is completed at 2 weeks post-partum, Harbour Doula will return with a drop off freshly prepared nourishing meal and set of snacks and completes up to one hour of light cleaning around the home, providing practical support during a time when many families begin to feel the demands of early parenthood.

  • This second visit offers an additional touchpoint of care, helping ensure you continue to feel nourished and supported as you recover and adjust to life with your new baby. By comparison, Standard Packages include a PP visit at day 30.

** Ingredients are locally sourced by season, whenever available. Groceries and packaging are included.
